Adjustable Tie Bars

Your car will come with one of 2 options:

- The original rose joint style bush that will allow full free movement around its axis. These are prone to seizure and it is recommended that the circlips be removed and the joint packed with fresh grease. This will ensure the joint does not seize.

- The later bonded rubber bush. These have no moving parts, instead relying the flexing of the rubber to allow movement. It is imperative that the bolts that secure the tie bars to these bushes be tightened when the weight is on wheels, not when the car is supported.

FAILURE TO CARRY OUT THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY LEAD TO THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF ANY TIE BAR REGARDLESS OF MAKE.

Even though the adjusters are Zinc plated to 20 micron, UK road conditions will eventually damage the finish. After fitting, it is recommended to heavily grease the adjuster before fitting and protect them via a bicycle chain stay protector, an innertube with cable ties or self-amalgamating tape. Anything that will offer protection from road spray will be sufficient. This will help protect against corrosion, ensuring longevity and the ability to adjust the bars in the future.
